I had read some great reviews and all, but something just wasn't right with it. Should have listened to a sample first! (mistake No.2) So needless to say, this audio book was switched off within five minutes of hitting the play button. To start with, I purchased the abridged version by accident (mistake No.1) Now it may sound strange, but I find that a mid 80s sounding synth keyboard being used as background music throughout a story with the intent of providing 'ambiance' can be a little distracting. Loads of people I know have loved your book. I love what you're trying to do with Christianity though.

Then stick to the fresh description (through more metaphor too)–– then reveal other details by dialogue. The reader wants ACTION to drive the plot. What they really mean is not that they want a shorter book. FOR FRANK PERETTI TO READ: From one writer to another: I know people have told you the book is too long. Get ready for a headache, loads of rewinding––and you better have a hardcopy to follow along. Buy this ONLY if you have a project or homework assignment on this book for your school and you want to be able to pack a month's worth of reading into a couple of hours. But on top of this, we were bombarded with a slew of characters and descriptions without space or action to process the information. Even having read part of the book before, I was unable to follow the story! The narrator was drowned by background music. My wife and I listened to fifteen minutes of this and just could not take any more. They say less is more––but in this case, although there are less pages, there is just too much going on in too little space. It takes a long time for the action to happen, but arguably there is a payoff. I consider the UN-abridged version of this book to be too lengthy in description–– every scene is over-described, full of fluffy description to the point of frustration.
